Since 2003 I have worked in dentistry as a dental assistant, dental hygienist and adjunct clinical faculty instructor with Iowa Western Community College at Creighton University.
I am a certified orofacial myologist through the International Association of Orofacial Myology. I specialize in the neuromuscular rehabilitation of oral myofunctional disorders that include ankyloglossia (tongue tie), tongue thrusting, sleep disordered breathing and disorders of the temporomandibular joint (TMJ).
In order to provide a multidisciplinary care approach I work with many different providers including dentists, orthodontists, physicians, physical therapists, occupational therapists, speech language pathologists, lactation consultants, and chiropractors to help treat the entire body.
In an effort to educate our community on sleep disordered breathing, tongue ties, and oral myofunctional disorders, I belong to and lead multiple professional study clubs. I have presented to the Nebraska Dental Hygiene Association, Sioux City Dental Society, and to multiple dental and pediatrician offices. I treat all ages.
